Having a strong and consistent social media presence is more important now than ever. It helps brands build reliability, trust, and confidence while also giving them the opportunity to gain potential customers. More than 1 in 3 Internet users say they go to social networks when looking for more information about a brand or product – that’s a huge number!
However, a strong social media presence requires consistent content creation. When we talk about ‘consistency’, we don’t only mean being consistent in how many times a week you post, but also being consistent with the tone of voice you use and how you format your content. There are many different branches of consistency.
If consistency fails, you could risk gaining trust and a positive reputation for your brand. You could also lose your brand’s ability to turn followers and readers into loyal customers.
However, creating consistently high-quality social media content requires a lot of effort and time, and small businesses may wonder how they can even compete with the likes of the big brands, who have whole teams behind their social media channels.
We’ve listed a few ideas to help you keep generating and pumping out that first-class, consistent social media content!
1. Learn from your customers and followers
Ask yourself: Who are you trying to attract? What are their pain points? What questions do they have related to your industry? The answers to these questions will give you a base for your content.
You can also leverage social media polls and quizzes to find out more about what your audience wants to see. We’d also recommend engaging with them daily and taking note of posts they comment on and share. With this knowledge, you can better understand which content is driving engagement.
When it comes to blog posts, utilize platforms such as Google Analytics and Google Keyword Planner.
2. Simplify it!
You’re not expected to come up with unique ideas every single day. Make things easier for yourself by reposting old content or by sharing other relatable content, whether that be articles or images that you find on the web.
Create a content calendar for each month so that you have a structure for your content creation. Include in your calendar the odd day when you will repost or share other articles or memes. Every time you come across something like this that you’d like to share, save it to a document or put it in your content calendar. These sorts of posts will save you valuable time.
3. Take advantage of the news and industry updates
Being in the know about changes and updates in your industry not only portrays you as an industry expert but also provides you with a never-ending amount of content inspiration.
For example, as a social media marketer, I keep up with Meta, LinkedIn news, and TikTok newsrooms on a weekly basis. You can also search hashtags on any of these platforms to see exactly what other people are talking about and join in on the conversation. LinkedIn also has trending topics, which you can make use of.
Creating your social media content plan and strategy can feel overwhelming, to say the least. However, it doesn’t need to be! There are so many resources and ways for you to create consistent and meaningful content.
