What Is Close?
Close is a CRM built for small and mid-sized sales teams that do real outbound activity. Unlike most CRMs, calling, SMS, and email sequencing are native: reps can power-dial through lead lists, send multi-step email sequences, and log everything automatically without bolting on separate tools. Its search and smart-view filtering are fast, setup is genuinely quick, and pricing is published — from $9/user/month (Solo, annual) up to $139/user/month (Scale), with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required. Recent plans include monthly AI credits for features like call summaries. The trade-off is scope: Close's email sending runs through your connected mailboxes at normal CRM volumes, so it is a system of record and rep workflow tool, not a cold email engine. There is no inbox rotation, warmup, or deliverability layer, and marketing features are thin by design.
Pros
- Calling, SMS, and email sequences native to the CRM — no dialer add-ons
- Published, honest pricing with a 14-day trial and 30-day money-back guarantee
- Power dialer (Growth) and predictive dialer (Scale) for high-activity phone teams
- Fast UI and smart views make list-working genuinely quick
- Light setup — small teams are productive in days, not months
Cons
- Not built for cold email volume — sequences send from your own mailboxes with no rotation or warmup
- Per-user cost climbs quickly on Growth/Scale tiers plus usage-based calling charges
- Thin marketing-side features (no forms/landing pages ecosystem like HubSpot)
- Solo tier is genuinely limited; teams effectively start at Essentials
Close Pricing
Published and verified live as of July 2026: Solo $9/user/month, Essentials $35, Growth $99, Scale $139 (billed annually; monthly billing is $19/$49/$109/$149). Calling and SMS are usage-billed (outbound calls around $0.02/minute, numbers from $1/month); Call Assistant is a $50/month add-on. 14-day free trial, no credit card; 30-day money-back guarantee.
Our Verdict
Close is one of the best CRMs for outbound-led SMBs, but it belongs downstream of cold email, not in place of it. The pattern that works: generate replies with Instantly or Smartlead on burner domains, push interested leads into Close via Zapier or API, then let reps run calls, SMS, and nurture sequences from their real mailboxes. Its sequences are for working warm leads at sane volumes. Used that way, Close is excellent; used as a cold email tool, it will disappoint.
Best for: SMB sales teams — especially calling-heavy ones — that want CRM, dialer, and follow-up sequences in one tool with transparent pricing.
